Dr. Angela Randazzo is an experienced and compassionate veterinarian. She moved to Columbia about 2 years ago and started her "Paws in Heaven" business.

   Randazzo drew inspiration from caring for her father, who passed away in 2011 from lung cancer. As her father's life dwindled, she opted to have him spend his last moments at home instead of in a hospital. Randazzo believed her father left in the most comfortable environment possible. She has long wanted to provide the same service to her clients - pets - so that they can be euthanized in an environment that is more comfortable for them than in a veterinary hospital.

During hospice visit appointment, Randazzo performs some health checks and gives medical advice based on the pet's current health situation.

   Zoey is 14 years old and was adopted by the Cabello family in 2012. Due to Zoey's diabetes, her health took a sharp turn for the worse in a short period. After Randazzo's examination, Zoey currently requires some medication, but she still has about a year to live.

   Katy is 16 years old and was adopted by her owner, Alexandra James when she was about nine months old. Because of Katy's age and unpromising physical condition, she was euthanized in December 2022 to reduce her pain.

   "You're a good girl," James kept telling Katy as she leaned over and whispered in Katy's ear. After the final confirmation, Randazzo gave Katy the euthanasia injection.

   "It's okay, " James kept saying, as if to Katy or herself. Katy witnessed James's growth from college to work, marriage, giving birth to two children, divorce, and now having a new boyfriend. As James' best friend and closest family member, Katy has been by James' side through many significant moments in her life.

   After giving James and Katy some private time together, Randazzo returned to the room and made a few paw prints as a souvenir for James. Then, Randazzo took Katy back to her house and placed her in the freezer to wait for the crematorium to take Katy away to be cremated......
